The Pontiac and wider Outaouais regions are beautiful parts of the world, filled with interesting places to present concerts.  With our Road Show series, we take Pontiac Enchanté to different venues around the region, partnering with people and spaces to show the many wonders this part of the world has to offer.  These concerts will almost always be in non-traditional concert spaces - expect old churches, vineyards, community museums, and a variety of other spaces! This 'mini-series' is run as a series of pop-up shows, and is less formalized than our flagship series.  Events may come up at short notice, so check here often to see what is up next.

Road Show 1: Songs of Mountains and Magic @ Mill Road

Where: La Fab sur Mill, 8 Rue Mill, Chelsea, J9B 1K8. Click here to view in Google Maps.  Formerly the Chelsea United Church, the charming 150-year-old building is now home to the La Fab sur Mill Arts Centre, and is a fantastic concert space.
When: Sunday, December 5th, 2021, 4:00pm
Who: Meghan Lindsay, soprano; Carson Becke, pianoWhat: a spectacular program of songs about mountains, the supernatural, and humankind’s relationship to the world around us. The program centers around two large pieces: Edvard Grieg’s stunning song cycle Haugtussa (The Mountain Maid), which tells the story of Veslemøy, a young woman living on an isolated farm in the Norwegian highlands. Veslemøy is able to see both the ‘real’ world and the the supernatural realm that is invisible to others. Second, Rebecca Clarke’s haunting Binnorie, a setting of the gruesome Scottish folk tale of the ‘two sisters’, which unfolds against the backdrop of the misty and austere Scottish highlands.  These two larger works will be paired with shorter pieces by Schumann, Schubert, and Sibelius.
