Come celebrate an upbeat Christmas with The Montréal Horn Stars, an extraordinarily versatile brass quintet, revisiting the pop, jazz and classical repertoire with its inventive original arrangements. Made up of prominent Québécois musicians, the group collaborates regularly with artists such as Patrick Watson, Pilou, Klô Pelgag, Gabrielle Shonk, and Cirque Éloize. Very active in the studio, the Horn Stars can be heard in Cirque du Soleil shows and on many albums, notably those of Louis-Jean Cormier and Philippe Brach. The group also performs on their own, in shows that are accessible and loaded with groove. In recent years, they’ve performed at the National Arts Centre and at the Montreal Jazzfest. In this concert, one set of the show will feature a suite of pieces by Taylor Donaldson, written specifically for the group, and in the other you’ll hear your beloved Holiday favourites, but with a jazzy twist. It’s bound to be a fun one for the whole family!
